Perform a variety of technical duties to support the Webasto customer and Technical Service Dealer base by developing and instituting solutions to support these customers’ requirements and improve product performance. Provide repair and product installation services.
This position requires the ability to interact professionally with customers and staff members in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Written and verbal communication skills coupled with a strong sense for creative application design aptitude, prioritizing work and attention to detail are equally important.
Candidate will be experienced in all areas of Marine HVAC with additional experience in Marine Electrical troubleshooting and general boat knowledge and etiquette. This person must be well organized, flexible and able to work alone for extended periods of time without direct supervision, primarily at the customer’s site. This position requires candidate/employee to work “from home”, remotely. Employee will perform all duties with the guidance and scheduling of the Marine Service Manager/Supervisor .
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Acquisition of new orders, contracts and business development
Sales and installation of new Webasto Marine products
Replacement of existing products with Webasto Marine products
Complete service of ALL Marine manufactured HVAC products
Warranty claims, processing and resolution
Processing of customer inquires
Teaching and training of Webasto Marine products to Servicing Dealers
Maintain Webasto vehicle, vehicle parts stock and parts warehousing
Travel for Webasto service and sales related functions, including but not limited to: boat shows, service repair, service training, customer assistance, segment meetings and Webasto employee assistance
OEM installation training and new product installation
Equivalent to the completion of high school diploma/GED is required. 2-Year Technical / Vocational School certificate and or 5+ years prior experience with Marine HVAC and Electrical, including sales and application within the North American Marine Industry. Valid driver license for the State in which you reside. Willing and able to travel with short notice. An equivalent combination of education, training or experience that provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge and proficiency of:
Marine technical products and processes
12 / 24 volt Marine electrical systems
115 / 230 volt Marine electrical systems understanding 1 and 3 phase
Marine based heating and air conditioning systems including Chiller systems and pumps
Strong customer servicing and problem diagnostic skills; well-versed in the creation of prototype and application solutions
Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Current office practices, equipment and calendar/work scheduling
Speak, write, and understand English as a language
Interact and display interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Be detail oriented
Be orderly, adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated and work well on their own or as a member of a team
Perform many tasks at once, and handle responsibilities that can change on a daily basis, prioritize and meet deadlines
Take responsibility and perform work utilizing independent judgment and initiative, making sound decisions and in developing application and design solutions to problems

While performing the duties of this job, work is primarily performed in both indoor and outdoor settings with extended periods of time spent at customer locations. You may also have extended work duties with computer work, telephone, sitting and standing. You will be required to work outside in outdoor working conditions where you will be subject to and exposed to external environmental factors and conditions. Employee is occasionally required to: stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools and controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and or move objects and or equipment up to 100 pounds. Be able lift and carry tools, products and materials.
Employee will be working in confined and tight spaces and must have the physical ability to have full working motion, above head, below feet, crouching and extending. Often times these confined spaces will be in engine rooms and subject to extreme heat and humidity.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Basic communication skills such as talking, seeing and hearing are needed for frequent person-to-person contacts and telephone usage.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions as stated above. The nature of the work has frequent interruptions; contact with the public and clients requires strong communication skills. Candidate/Employee may be required to work beyond normal daily working hours. This job requires the ability and acceptance of 50-75% travel time, from home overnight.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and comparable to the Marine Industry, but could be extensive based on customer location.
