NMMA manages Discover Boating, a national consumer awareness program on behalf of the recreational boating industry. Discover Boating programs focus on improving the boating experience and building interest in recreational boating. NMMA also is the largest producer of boat and sport shows in the U.S. NMMA connects the recreational boating industry with the boating consumer year-round.
The Sr. Content Manager - Brand position is a hands-on marketing position focused on planning, creation and implementation of content for Discover Boating's integrated marketing campaign. This person will work closely with internal/external digital, advertising, public relations and event managers on a variety of marketing content with emphasis on web and social media. The objective of this content is to enhance the perception of the boating lifestyle and help the recreational boating industry advance its mission of introducing non-boaters to a lifetime of boating.
Maximize awareness of the boating lifestyle through the creation of all forms of high quality content including video, editorial, web site, social media content and other channels and platforms as they are identified.
Develop and manage the visual elements of the Discover Boating brand on all platforms and channels and create original, culturally relevant, programming and content that promotes the boating lifestyle and introduces non-boaters to the sport.
Will work diligently to provide the best possible user experience ensuring all content is presented in a clear, consistent, brand-friendly manner
Identify and prioritize the data inputs that drive content strategies, including, social media data, search data, website data analytics, content audits, gap analyses and more.
Develop and optimize a system for ongoing content creation, with proven methods for setting clear goals, testing and optimizing content to specific KPIs.
Partner with other members of the Discover Boating cross-functional marketing team to maximize the performance of content strategies and tactics. Work across a complex matrix of internal and external stakeholders to bring cross-functional, multi-channel ideas to life.
Collect, monitor and analyze social and website metrics, and make improvements accordingly
Will be a major contributor to organizations boat show social media effort

Self-Motivated and organized
Excellent content strategy, copywriting and editorial skills.
5-10 years of in-house brand or agency experience working with diverse teams to drive and execute messaging and content across multiple channels.
As a hands-on team player, you are a content strategist, a content editor and a content creator, working across the spectrum of content to identify content needs and create or lead external resources when needed in the creation of content.
Well-versed at collaborating, gaining consensus and aligning marketers and non-marketers around a creative and content vision.
Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Passion for todays social media technologies
5-10 years of experience in a fast-paced creative organization such as an agency or an industry trade organization.
Bachelors Degree or higher
A boater who has experience in multiple aspects of the boating lifestyle (fishing, cruising, watersports, etc.)
