Perform as a senior member of the management team with professionalism, leadership, integrity, commitment, and honesty
Direct and coordinate the activities of the engineering department to Design, Develop, Engineer, and Test components, products, and systems by performing the engineering management duties and responsibilities personally or through subordinate staff.
Direct and coordinate the activities of the engineering department to Support the needs of the Sales Department as may be required to accomplish a timely and competitive quoting process.
Direct and coordinate the activities of the engineering department to Support the needs of the Production Department as may be required to accomplish timely manufacturing tasks to fulfill customer requirement as detailed by the Paneltronics Engineering Department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Direct department activities to design, develop, and prototype new products, modify existing designs, support improved production techniques, and develop test procedures.
Direct department activities to specify and select parts, components and suppliers to support the design, development, and prototyping of new products, modified designs, improved production techniques, and test procedures.
Direct department activities to generate accurate, detailed, competitive, and costed bills of material, “Quote Masters”, and “Engineering Masters” to support the Sales Department in the pricing and quoting process.
Direct department activities to prepare and release accurate and detailed engineering and design documents for support and use in the production process.
Plan and prioritize departmental work and activities.
Manage, assign, and monitor the progress of departmental work through the use of Team software.
Monitor and evaluate engineering staff performance.
Work directly with specified customers and suppliers to achieve the goals and objectives of the specific product and customer requirements within the context of Paneltronics’ goals and objectives.
Confer with management, production, and sales staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
Translate customer needs into requirements that can be addressed by the engineering staff.
Develop, document, and implement departmental processes and procedures. Store this documentation electronically in the Engineering server files.
Analyze data to determine if designs and requirements meet functional and performance specifications required by customers, internal company specifications and requirements, and/or industry standards (i.e. ABYC, SAE, etc.).
Work with production management and supervisory staff to support production engineering needs and requirements
Evaluate departmental staffing requirements.
Develop engineering staff knowledge, capabilities and expertise though education, training and mentoring programs.
Analyze technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to properly plan and coordinate projects.
Resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, proven technologies, and/or concepts.
Advise management in a timely fashion of new developments, which may affect profits, schedules, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
Provide direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to department personnel and activities.
Research and study new technologies and processes, which may improve operations and processes for the Engineering Department and related company departments. Accordingly develop and propose recommendations to management.
The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
The ability to read and interpret design requirements, regulatory standards, and quality standards
The ability to design electrical and basic electronic circuits
The ability to design intermediate mechanical panels, enclosures, parts and components
Excellent hands-one working knowledge with MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint.
Excellent CAD skills – Preferably with SolidWorks

Five (5) or more years of professional experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Three (3) or more years prior Engineering Management experience
Three (3) or more years prior experience in a Manufacturing environment
